OakLeaf Clinics - Eau Claire Medical Clinic has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a full-time registration/scanning clerk.

OakLeaf Clinics is dedicated to providing our patients with compassion, trust, and a lifetime of individualized care. Our healthcare team consists of physicians, nurse practitioners, certified nurse midwives, nurses, and medical assistants working in concert with laboratory/imaging services to offer individualized care to the Chippewa Valley.

Position description

As a registration/scanning clerk, you will work with our medical records team to update medical records, distribute incoming faxes, answer incoming patient calls, and schedule patients.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scanning of paper health information into patients' electronic medical records following established guidelines
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of scanned document images to ensure accuracy and legibility maintained
  • Be willing to take on other duties/tasks and expand your role within medical records and registration departments
  • Maintain patient confidentiality

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a High School diploma; associate degree preferred
  • At least one year of relevant experience or training
  • Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks
  • Comfortable working in a flexible team environment
  • Strong organizational skills

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a clinic or office setting.

Physical demands

The physical demands described here represent those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. Major activities of this job include frequent sitting for extended periods of time, some walking or standing, and light physical effort performed on a level surface. The medical office involves carrying, lifting, kneeling, bending, reaching, and squatting. Use a computer and telephone and employ writing and organizational skills. Manual dexterity, mobility, and good vision, including near acuity, depth perception, and accommodation, are physical requirements for technical work.
