Your health is important to our team! The many things that are covered during an annual well-woman exam are:

General Health

  • Blood pressure screening
  • Healthy diet and activity counseling
  • Substance use screening and assessment
  • Diabetes screening
  • Lipid and cholesterol screening
  • Obesity prevention
  • Osteoporosis prevention and screening
  • Tobacco screening and counseling
  • Urinary incontinence screening

Mental Health Screening

  • Depression and anxiety screening
  • Interpersonal and domestic violence screening

Breast Health

  • Breast self-exam (Become familiar with your breasts so you can identify any changes and discuss them with your provider.)
  • Risk assessment for BRCA1/2 genetic counseling and testing

Reproductive Health

  • Family planning
  • Pap smear screening
  • Pelvic exam
  • Sexually transmitted infection (STI) prevention, counseling, and testing (Both partners should get tested for STIs, including HIV, before initiating sex. You should get a yearly chlamydia test if you have new or multiple partners)

Cancer

  • Colorectal cancer screening
  • Skin cancer counseling

Immunizations

  • COVID-19 vaccine
  • Influenza vaccine

It is important to note that you may be charged an additional office visit or copay if separate health concerns are discussed during your annual visit. There may be times when your additional concerns need to be addressed with another appointment. However, when possible, your provider will attempt to address your concerns during your annual well-woman exam. It is important to recognize this may be associated with a co-pay or be applied to your deductible.
